Ronnie Coleman – Professional Bodybuilder

In Monroe Louisiana, on May 13, 1964, professional bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman was born Ronald Dean Colman. In 1982 he graduated from high school and attended Grambling University, where he received a BA in accounting in 1986. During his college years, he played soccer for Grambling State University with famed coach Eddie Robinson.

After college, Coleman became a cop with the Arlington Police Department. Today, Coleman works as a reserve for the same police department. His passion is bodybuilding, where he has the record of winning Mr. Olympia eight years in a row. He also holds the IFBB record for the most wins, which to date stands at 26.

Ronnie Coleman was first introduced to the bodybuilding competition by Brain Dobson, owner of Metro Flex Gym in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Texas was Coleman’s debut bodybuilding contest in 1990. He won the overall heavyweight title.

It stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs between 230 and 300, depending on the season. It weighs more during the low season. The most notable features of Coleman’s body are his legs that measure 36 inches in diameter, his chest 60 inches, and his arms that measure 24 inches in diameter.

Coleman supports the Inner City Games that were co-founded in 1991 by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also continues to participate in and win bodybuilding competitions around the world. In 2001, Coleman won the Admiral in the Texas Navy Certificate Award for his remarkable achievements in bodybuilding.

Coleman married Rouaida Christine Achkar in 2007. He has two daughters.

Ronnie Coleman is a bodybuilding icon and is one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. He announced his plans to compete in the 2010 Mr. Olympia competition.
