The multimedia capabilities of the HTC Sensation

Although not as popular as the iPhone, the HTC Sensation can be considered as one of the leading products when it comes to the smallest details of its specifications. It has a resolution of 560 X 960 on a 4.3-inch screen. It captures images at 8 megapixels with an autofocus function and records videos at 1080px, as opposed to the more common video definition of just 720px, and records these videos in stereo sound. It has a processing speed of 1.2 GHz with a dual-core processor that allows it to load high-bandwidth web pages in multiple tabs. With processing speed like HTC Sensation, multitasking with your smartphones becomes much faster. The Sensation has a 768 RAM with a built-in storage capacity of 1GB which can still be expanded up to 32GB using an SD 2.0 card. Now, enough of its hardware specifications; Let’s start reviewing the multimedia capabilities of HTC Sensation.

One of the features that separates a smartphone from the rest of the other phones on the market is its excellent Internet access. The Sensation uses 3G technology to have a download speed of up to 14.4 Mbps and an upload speed of 5.76 Mbps. It is also capable of connecting to WiFi, allowing it to be used as a modem in many cases. The Sensation has GPRS download speeds of up to 114 Kbps. It uses Bluetooth 3.0 and has AD2P which you can use for wireless stereo headsets.

You can use HTC Sensation to listen to both music stored on your SD cards and music streamed on the FM radio. It has SRS virtual surround sound for wired headset use. You can also access streams through this smartphone and use its DLNA connectivity so you can watch your favorite shows on larger screens with the use of DLNA-enabled TVs.

HTC Sensation also has a wide variety of audio files that are supported, including .m4a, .mid, .mp3, aac, .amr, .wav, .wma, and .ogg file formats. This time, you no longer need to convert audio files to different formats; gets rid of the hassle of uploading files to your PC by converting them into compatible file formats and downloading them back to your smartphone. However, Sensation records audio in .amr format, so you still need to have an audio converter on your PC if you want to edit or play the recorded audio.

The number of video formats Sensation supports is as many as the audio files it supports. You can play videos in .avi, .xvid, .mp4, .amr, .3gp, .3g2, and .wmv formats. On the other hand, it records videos in .3gp, so you don’t need any converter here if you already have Windows Media Player Classic.

In all honesty, there’s nothing revolutionary with what the HTC Sensation has to offer in terms of its multimedia capabilities, so it wouldn’t deserve sky-high marks; it’s still a phone worth looking into.
