While watching TV one day, I saw a segment on Viewers’ Homemade Face Mask Recipes, and I have to say I’m totally intrigued (after being a bit grossed out) by the concept of a face mask made from kitty litter.
The show’s host wasn’t sure about some of these homemade face mask recipes, but he said the Kitty Litter facial might work, because it’s made from organic volcanic ash (which people pay top dollar for) and bentonite clay. it can help. to draw out toxins and oils from the skin, eliminating blackheads and acne. If you think of it as a clay mask, you won’t be so grossed out by putting kitty litter on your face. I would do a spot test to make sure you don’t have any allergies or weird reactions, but I’ll try this Kitty Litter facial as soon as I visit my friend who has a cat and lots of unused kitty litter! If you want a similar face mask, but don’t like the idea of kitty litter, you can use Bentonite Clay… and I’ve used a brand of Aztec Indian Healing Clay and I can vouch that it’s fabulous, especially for acne. . prone skin!!!
Homemade mask recipes – cat litter facial
1. Put some kitty litter in a microwave-safe bowl, along with water.
2. Heat the water and kitty litter in the microwave for a few minutes.
3. Mix well and let it cool down before applying it to your face.
4. Allow the face mask to dry and harden for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
Disclaimer: I highly recommend NOT putting any mask, especially one made of kitty litter, near your eyes or mouth! As always, do a spot test for allergies before applying any homemade face mask recipe.
