Sports Comparison – Tennis and Basketball

Can we describe the differences and similarities between sports as different as tennis and basketball? This question seems a bit unbelievable, but I’ll try to make such a comparison and we’ll see what the result will be.

In my opinion, the similarities between these two sports are easier to point out, and there are far fewer of them. All sports injure, and these two popular sports also injure. Breaking your legs or wrists happens just as often as other serious injuries. Bruises and scratches are so common that you shouldn’t even mention them.

Basketball is much more of a contact sport than tennis. Basketball players fight each other to rebound or steal the ball, often pushing each other and staying in the opponent’s path. On the other hand, the tennis players do not have direct contact with each other. They touch each other only at the beginning and at the end of the match by shaking hands or even giving each other a hug.

A tennis match is mainly held outdoors, while basketball matches are held only in sports halls. Basketball match time is limited and fixed while tennis match time may be different. The result of the tennis match is determined after two out of three sets won by one of the players (sometimes these values look like three out of five).

As you can see (and I’m sure you know), tennis is a different sport than basketball, but it also has some similarities.
