Painting in monotonous

One of the joys of my life has been painting the places where I live. When I moved into my current home over 30 years ago, it was painted a horrible yellow on the walls and white on the ceiling. There was no quality to him and he was crying out for a remake. It took me a while to settle in and settle down before considering the job. Finally it happened that looking at the condition of the walls led me to the store to buy paint.

The swatches were beautiful but blue is my color. Looking for one that would do the best job, a pale blue, called vacation sky, caught my eye. In the usual way I bought it and the necessary accessories, between sheets, rollers and tray, etc.

So I made a momentous decision that goes against all normal rules. I decided to paint the ceiling the same color as the walls. This eliminated the need to pick a second color and have the added difficulty of painting against each other, which is a bit tricky where the two meet.

This turned out to be a great decision and the entire house was painted blue. It is peaceful, easy to live with, and the good quality of the paint allows it to remain intact for many years. It has since been painted one more time, but it looks just as fresh as when it was first made.

The joinery that wraps around doors and windowsills, along with the pantry are all satin white and the recently renovated kitchen now has fronted cabinets to fill the space between the tops and the ceiling. This has eliminated the need to clean the top of the cupboard and avoid cobwebs in the corners.

The first impression that people get when entering the house is of peace. The color is very attractive and highly recommended for people who want to try it.

My motto with anything of this nature is to keep it simple. The walls that flash with colors do not leave room for other decorations and my paintings have to go somewhere. They stand out against the pale color behind them and with so many now hanging, the place looks more like an art gallery. The end result is my home and reflects my personality.
