Specs: Apple’s new generation of MacBooks have received rave reviews from critics around the world and are the recipient of many Editor’s Choice Awards from several leading technology publications. One of his favorite models was the 15.4-inch Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A laptop.
The Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A has a 2.53 Ghz Intel Core 2 processor. It comes with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250 GB hard drive. It runs on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system and has a 15.40-inch TFT screen. It is a bright, LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1440 x 900. For graphics, it uses the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M graphics card.
Design: Like the new generation of Apple computers, the Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A is sleeker than previous models and features a single-piece aluminum casing. It has dimensions of 14.3 x 9.8 x 0.9 inches and weighs 5.5 pounds. In general, it has a clean look, with the DVD SuperDrive on the right side and all the connectors/ports on the left.
Features and performance:Although you can get a regular Windows OS laptop on the market with similar specs at a lower price, let me bluntly say that the Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A performs much better than many other regular laptops in its class.
For starters, the built-in battery in the Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A can last up to 7 hours on a single charge. We’ll be lucky to get 3 hours out of a normal laptop of this size. Running ‘heavy’ graphics applications and multitasking was also a dream on this model. Performance speeds in our tests were much better than any of the non-Apple laptops we’ve tested. Currently, the Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A is priced at around $1699 each, a good price for a laptop of this stature.
